BARBARA J. PERUTELLI

Barbara J. Perutelli (bperutelli@slblawfirm.com)is a principal in this firm, and has practiced with Schulman, LeRoy & Bennett since 1984. She received a B.S. from the University of Memphis in 1969 and a J.D. from the Nashville School of Law in 1984. Her primary area of practice is in civil litigation, which includes insurance defense and insurance issues. She is also involved in landlord and tenant litigation, representing both commercial and residential management companies. She is certified as a civil trial specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Legal Education & Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association. She is a member of the Nashville, Williamson County, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations and was the 1997-98 President of Lawyers Association for Women. Mrs. Perutelli is the past Chair of the Nashville Bar Association’s Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee and of its Chancery and Circuit Court Committee. She is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. In 1992 she was invited to the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court and is currently a member of the John Marshall American Inn of Court. She is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in American Law and serves by appointment as a hearing committee member to the Tennessee Supreme Court Board of Professional Responsibility. She currently chairs the Tennessee Bar Association’s Lawyer’s Professional Liability Insurance Committee.
